Well, now that we’ve gotten that piece out of the way. Let’s get down to business.

Last year, for my birthday, my cousin and brother got me this book. (A big shout out to you guys!)

The Alchemist by Paulo Coelho.

This book is a favorite amongst bookworms. And apparently I looked the part. So down it plopped onto my lap in some silver wrappings.

“It has sold more than 41 million copies in more than 150 countries worldwide and has been translated into some 57 languages. It is also one of the best selling books in history. There is also a movie-in-progress produced by Laurence Fishburne, who is a fan of Coelho.”

Or so it says in the place where all of life’s questions are solved.

Okay, getting back on track here. Though it took me quite a while to actually get to reading it, but once I got started, didn’t put it down till I was reading the words on the back of the book. And I clocked in a blitzing 2 hours.

And when the dust has settled. What am I left with?

An entertaining story? No doubt.
Morally uplifting? Say what?
Spiritually enlightening? Huh?
Inspirational? ¿puede hablar inglés?

Can someone explain to me what I was supposed to have gotten from the book? So that i can pretend to be a know-it-all in front of other people. Oh, and so that I can laugh at them for not understanding the philosophical part of the story?

*snigger snigger* “Come on.. You have got to be kidding me.. You didn’t get that?” *snigger snigger*
